As actors we often get asked to be truthful, really listen, and be in the moment without actually being taught how.
This way of working will teach you how by offering a technique that you can apply in any rehearsal room or on any film set.
Where we'll meet
Chapter is a wonderful arts centre & creative hub in Cardiff, a 20 minute walk from the city centre with free parking.
What we'll learn
We'll explore Meisner's notion that acting is rooted in investing in the reality of doing in order to discover how to live truthfully.

Michael Gilhooly
Michael trained at LAMDA before undertaking a year-long Meisner Technique training with Scott Williams, a student of Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York in the '70s.
Michael has taught and directed at many of the UK's leading drama schools, including Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, LAMDA, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Drama Centre, Arts Ed, Drama Studio London, Rose Bruford, Mounview, LIPA, Fourth Monkey, Bristol School of Acting and The Impulse Company.
As a filmmaker, he is a BAFTA Connect member and co-founder of award-winning production company Good Shout.
Directing credits include: The Listener (BAFTA long-listed), That's What I Heard (It's My Shout/BBC Wales), and upcoming feature The Buff Club, a coming-of-age comedy set in a small Welsh village in 2002.
Miranda Shamiso
Miranda Shamiso is British-Zimbabwean actor and BAFTA Cymru member working in film, TV and theatre. She trained in the Meisner Technique with Scott Williams, a student of Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York in the '70s.
Her TV and film credits include: Ted Lasso (Apple TV), The Winter King (ITV & MGM) and H Is For Hawk (Plan B & Film4). She has recently been filming a TV series for Sky.
Miranda was selected for this year's ARISE programme, a year-long artist development scheme run by Fio and Wales Millennium Centre where she is enjoying developing her skills as a filmmaker, and last year was selected for CULT Cymru’s Mentoring 4 Creatives programme where she was mentored for 6 months by BAFTA winner Rakie Ayola.
Miranda is currently developing her feature film Folklore with the support of Ffilm Cymru on their Space / Lle filmmakers development lab.
